Outbound Hotels, a new brand, has its eye on active travelers: Travel Weekly

Date:

Outbound Hotels, a new hospitality venture from real estate investment firm Waterton, aims to establish a foothold in what it calls “America’s great outdoor destinations.”

The brand has launched with a pair of converted properties: The Virginian
Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyo., and the Outbound Mammoth in Mammoth Lakes,
Calif. (The Outbound Mammoth was previously flagged as the Sierra Nevada
Resort.)

Outbound is targeting locations that offer proximity to nature — promising guests access to outdoor activities like hiking, biking, skiing, climbing or swimming — as well as towns that will enhance guests’ immersion in local culture. Each Outbound property will offer outdoor equipment rentals, with guests also able to book excursions and experiences through a variety of adventure activity partners.

Bring Rover along

Additionally, all Outbound Hotels will be dog-friendly and will offer a robust lineup of on-property programming and events, including complimentary campfire s’mores, morning yoga, karaoke night and live acoustic music performances.

In addition to the two recent debuts, Outbound Hotels locations are slated to open in Stowe, Vt., in mid-2024 and in California’s Yosemite National Park in the first quarter of 2025.

According to Outbound, the brand’s properties will play at an “approachable price point,” with rates starting at $150 per night.
