The Oak Glen volleyball team continued its streak of winning the West Virginia Class AA Region 1, Section 1 championship in Fairmont on Saturday, winning all three matches it played without losing a set on the way to securing the trophy and another appearance in the Region 1 tournament. The Golden Bears, now 30-3-3 on the season, defeated Fairmont Senior to start the tournament before defeating Weir High in both the semifinals and final, all by 3-0 scores. The Red Riders, by virtue of finishing runner up, also advance to Saturday’s regional tournament. The top two finishers in the regional tournament, which is being held at Oak Glen, will advance to the Class AA state tournament. Oak Glen is looking for a fifth-straight state tournament appearance. – Contributed
