TRAVERSE CITY — The Alpena High boys soccer team took one on the chin on Thursday, losing to Traverse City West 8-0.
Alpena (1-1-4) plays at Traverse City Central on Tuesday.

Atlanta 3, Fairview 0
The Atlanta volleyball team won its second match in as many days, beating Fairview in three sets Thursday, 25-6, 25-8 and 25-5.
Jenna McSwain had 10 aces for Atlanta; Olivia McSwain had 17 assists and five aces; Brianna Jadrych had 10 kills and Valerie Binge had eight aces and five kills.

Alpena wins TC Invite
BEULAH — The Alpena girls golf team won the Traverse City JV/Small School Invitational Thursday with a team score of 436.
Grace Bouchard took first place overall with an 88. Jami Richards was second overall with a 97. Brook Schroeder shot 121. Faith Dragiewicz shot 130. Alivia Garrow shot 140.
BOYS TENNIS
Cadillac 6, Alpena 2
CADILLAC — Johnny Bender won at one singles (6-4, 6-2) and the one doubles team of Finn Williams and Tyler Cloft won (6-3, 6-0) during a dual with Cadillac on Thursday.
Cadillac won the dual 6-2.
