Davidson County offers lots of opportunities for a day or night on the town.
This weekend, choose from concerts and holiday markets. Check out these five things to do this weekend.
1. Singing at the vineyard
Davidson County musician Marte Maney will perform from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 25 at The Grape Escape Vineyard, 3583 Bethesda Road in Lexington. Maney started playing as a self-taught piano and guitar player in elementary school by competing in 4-H and talent shows. She has been playing the music scene since 16.
2. Christmas festival & market
The All About Christmas Festival and Market will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 25 at Midway Music Hall and Event Center, 11141 Old U.S. Highway 52, Winston-Salem (northern Davidson County). Vendors will be set up. Local churches and school choirs will provide music.
3. Jingle & Mingle
Jingle Mingle, a holiday craft and vendor event at Old Homeplace Vineyard, will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25. Mr. People Feeder and That’s a Wrap will be on-site selling food.
4. Train rides at local store
Christmas Train at Rock Outdoors will take place from noon-4 p.m. Nov. 25. Children can ride Santa’s train and visit with St. Nick and Mrs. Claus. Rock Outdoors is at 7440 N.C. Highway 8 in Lexington.
5. Country Christmas Train
Country Christmas Train will take place Nov. 24-26; Dec. 1-3; 7-10; Dec. 14-17, 20-23, 26 and 27 at the Denton FarmPark, 1072 Cranford Road in Denton. The Handy Dandy Railroad will take riders around the park to view thousands of Christmas lights. Other attractions include visits with Santa, tours of a dozen historic buildings, vendors in the craft barn, sweet treats in the gingerbread house, carnival rides, a petting zoo and more.
