LA CROSSE (WKBT) — There is an Elvis explosion happening right now at the La Crosse Center as the 29th annual competition to see who can best impersonate the King of Rock and Roll draws entertainers from all over the world.
The winner of the competition takes home $25,000 in cash.
Beyond the prize money, the competition has an added goal: to keep the memory of the icon alive.
“The fans won’t let this man die,” said Ronnie Craig, a competitor. “He died over 40 something years ago. His music is timeless. Through the entertainers they just keep coming out and keeping him alive and well.”
