GO.gov — federal travel and expense solution

Date:

GO.gov logo

GO.gov replaces the E-Gov Travel Service — ETS2 — program. All civilian agencies must switch over to GO.gov throughout fiscal year 2027. GO.gov gives agencies one secure, streamlined shared service to manage travel and expenses.

We awarded IBM a 15-year contract to run the travel and expense technology behind GO.gov. Find award details on SAM.gov.

What makes GO.gov different?

GO.gov combines travel booking and expense systems into one platform. ETS2 relied on two providers, and each agency managed its own setup. GO.gov standardizes processes, cuts manual tasks, and eliminates redundancies across civilian government travel.

This single, enterprisewide shared service drives efficiency, promotes compliance, and creates uniform processes agencywide. Here’s our approach:

  • Centralized operations: Combines booking, expense management, and support desk services into a single platform.
  • Compliance and standardization: Unifies civilian agencies under federal travel standards, eliminating costly customizations and simplifying workflows.
  • Continuous improvement: Leverages IBM’s managed service expertise to deliver ongoing system updates and enhancements.
  • User experience: Provides modern tools that help travelers complete tasks faster and make compliant choices effortlessly.
  • Robust security: Built on a cloud-based software as a service platform. It is FedRAMP-certified, applies critical security controls, and maintains high security standards for traveler identities and payment data.

Excepted entities

The Department of Defense, the federal government legislative branch, and the District of Columbia government are not required to use GO.gov.
