WORTHINGTON — Worthington’s duo of Hali Bullerman and Olivia Barber battled Martin County Area’s Hannah Cole for top honors on each piece of equipment Tuesday night before the hometown Trojans exited the gymnasium with a 140.85-132.625 Big South Conference dual gymnastics win over the Magic.

Bullerman edged Cole for the all-around competition’s gold medal by a 36.375-35.9 margin before Bullerman fended off the high-flying Cole for first place on the vault, 9.5-9.4, respectively.

Bullerman and Cole produced another respective 1-2 showing on the uneven bars, with Worthington’s standout squeezing out an 8.75-8.7 margin of victory over the Magic’s newcomer.

The Trojans’ Addison Gerber, who claimed fourth place (34.925) behind Barber (35.125) in the all-around competition, denied Bullerman a complete event sweep by posting a 9.0-scored routine on the balance beam to collect top accolades. Ironically, Cole and Bullerman tied for runner-up honors on the beam by generating marks of 8.7.

Bullerman then eclipsed Barber on the floor exercise by a 9.425-9.175 margin, with Cole garnering third-place honors with a 9.1 performance.

Barber claimed third on the uneven bars (8.375) and a pair of fourths on the vault (8.975) and balance beam (8.6) to add scoring depth for the hometown Trojans.

Gerber contributed a third-place vault score of 9.075 to Worthington’s winning ways, while teammate Brooklyn Dykstra netted fourth place on both the unevens (8.1) and floor exercise (9.0) to pace her fifth-place all-around score of 34.425.

Lillie Schultz produced 32.575 points for the Magic to claim sixth in the overall individual competition, Abi Chavez generated a seventh-place mark of 32.25, while Ava Thate contributed an eighth-place total of 31.025.

Schultz netted an individual event-best mark of 8.775 on the vault, Chavez paced her all-around effort with an 8.4 on the floor exercise, while Thate collected an 8.525 on the vault to spearhead her overall point production for the Magic.

Martin County Area (2-1) plays host to Blue Earth Area at 6 p.m. tonight at Live Fit Sport & Wellness Center.
