BREC Athletics offering Thanksgiving-week sports camp for kids that focuses on overall skills

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — BREC Athletics is collaborating with Ochsner Performance Training to offer a Fall Holiday Sports Camp from Nov. 20-22 at Kathy Drive Park in Baton Rouge. The camp will be offered to kids ages 7-14, according to a release from BREC.

“The main goal of this camp was to give the public the accessibility of certified trainers at an affordable rate for youth that will follow our mission in contributing to a healthy community with the help of Ochsner Sports Performance,” said Ronald Sensley Jr., BREC Athletics Program coordinator.

According to a news release from BREC, campers will participate in workouts that will test their overall speed, jumping, strength and conditioning.

“BREC Athletics has taken notice to the needs of the community, and we will continue to provide quality programming at an affordable rate to assist families in East Baton Rouge Parish with youth sports and events,” said Sensley.

Campers will also have the opportunity to be coached by certified strength and conditioning professionals in a series of workouts where they will get the chance to experience a great warm-up followed by speed, agility, plyometric, strength training, core, conditioning and flexibility workouts.

“The campers should look forward to taking a training approach that helps a youth athlete achieve their personal performance goals in youth sports, said Sensley. “This camp was designed to improve their overall fitness level for the purpose of increasing their ability to perform in any given sport.”

According to a release from BREC, parents can either register their kids for the 9 a.m. to noon sessions for $100 or for the entire day from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $142.
