Drivers heading to the Truckee and Lake Tahoe area should plan for delays as heavy summer travel combines with ongoing road construction across the region.
According to CHP Truckee in an online post, thousands of visitors are expected in the area while construction projects continue throughout the Truckee Tahoe Basin. Caltrans is working to improve roads and complete as much work as possible before winter.
Drivers are encouraged to leave early, be patient, follow directions from flaggers, and help everyone get to their destinations safely.
