LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Both political parties in Webb County are encouraging residents to get involved by attending upcoming public events focused on meeting candidates and learning more about local races.
The Democratic Party will continue its candidate forums on Thursday, January 22, featuring candidates running for county commissioner in Precinct 4. The forum will be held at the 1848 Event Center, with panel questions due by 5:30 p.m. The forum is scheduled to begin 30 minutes later.
Meanwhile, the Webb County Republican Party has announced a new date for its candidate meet-and-greet event. The family-friendly gathering is set for Feb. 12 at a local event center located at 5517 McPherson Road.
Organizers say the event will include photo opportunities with superheroes, a magic show, and brisket sandwiches for the first 100 attendees. The meet-and-greet is scheduled to run from 6 to 10 p.m.
