LOWELL — Lowell celebrated the 47th annual Octoberfest this weekend on Buell Island.
“We had good weather. We had a decent crowd,” said Octoberfest Chairman Josh Harris. “We had a good Octoberfest.”
Harris estimated a total of 7,000 to 8,000 people attended this weekend’s celebration, where between 60 and 70 vendors set up.
Entertainment included Two Buds and a Slap Box, Jessica Jo and Zumbro and Jesse Forest on Saturday, with Braydon Booth, Steve and Bev Pottmeyer and Rock’in Country Fever on Sunday.
“I appreciate all the committee members’ help and the public supporting us,” Harris said.

The Octoberfest committee would welcome new members, he said.
“We are always open to new committee members and new ideas,” Harris said.
Mildred Schwendeman, one of the founders of Octoberfest, visited Lowell this weekend to see Octoberfest again.
“It was very nice to have her here,” said Harris. “She is a great woman that knew and ran this operation for a long time.”
