Wale Shares Nintendo “Ad” Using Awkward Kai Cenat Encounter

Date:

Wale has taken a viral moment with Kai Cenat and turned it into a business opportunity. On Tuesday (June 10), following the 2025 BET Awards, the rapper shared the awkward video as an advertisement for Nintendo after the streamer was unable to identify who he was.

“Yall not on smash fr,” wrote the “Love Hate Thing” rapper on X as he tagged Kai Cenat’s account and used the hashtag #ad, which is used online to indicate that a post is a paid promotion sponsored by a brand.

The clip used in the parody digital commercial adds the Nintendo logo to the original viral clip, where Cenat questioned “What he do?” after meeting the 40-year-old who was playing on his Nintendo Switch at the time.

Wale himself did not seem to be deeply offended by the innocent interaction. Later that night at the BET Awards, the Washington, D.C., representative shared a moment with Cenat and offered to have a conversation.

“That sh*t making me look crazy now, just so you know,” Wale said to the social media personality. “That’s making me look crazy, the exchange we had in the hallway. I mean, they running with it, but we’ll talk later.”

Still, Kai Cenat maintained that his ignorance is due to his age, as he is 23 years old, which puts him 17 years younger than the veteran rapper.

“I’mma go ahead and say to Wale, I hope he didn’t take my interaction personal…how can you blame me from being who I am? You feel me? I’m young!” explained Cenat on Thursday to his followers.

He continued to play “Lotus Flower Bomb,” the lead single from Wale’s second studio album Ambition, which also features Miguel, and details his age when the record was popular with the exclamation, “2011? I was nine years old.”
