Check out this week’s edition of UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry. It features an exclusive conversation with award-winning director, veteran stage actor, writer, singer and producer Robert John Connor.
The Morehouse College alumnus has been a huge force in the entertainment industry and has worked on such classic TV series as The Cosby Show and A Different World and OWN’s original drama Greenleaf. He’s shared stages with such music icons as Gladys Knight, Barry Manilow and Michael Buble and has recorded and arranged vocals for a variety of production jingles. But it’s mentoring the next generation of talent through his Dominion Entertainment Group that gives Conner a sense of purpose these days. His influence over the years has touch the lives and careers of numerous artists including Tony Award-winning Broadway star Joaquina Kalukango, acclaimed jazz vocalist Tony Hightower, stage and TV Phenom Enoch Armando King, mesmerizing TV actresses Brittany Inge and Kiandra Richardson and gospel music sensations Latrice Pace and Yanna Crawley. Check him out as he talks about this and much more.
UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30pm EST. It is also presented by the High Museum of Art.
