UK Wildcats News: Big Weekend for Football Transfer Visits

Date:

The college football transfer window is officially open, and this weekend is a big weekend for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Mark Stoops has already landed his next quarterback as Georgia Bulldogs transfer Brock Vandagriff has already announced he will be taking his talents to Lexington.

With the quarterback already taken care of, the Cats now turn their attention to the weekend and the transfers that will be on campus for visits.

Last week, it was reported that All-Big Ten wide receiver and Indiana transfer Donaven McCulley will be on campus this weekend for a visit.

McCulley was originally a QB in the 2021 class but made the move to wide receiver and is coming off a season where he logged a team-high 48 receptions for 644 yards and 6 touchdowns.

However, McCulley will not be the only player on campus this weekend, as Texas A&M transfer wide receiver Raymond Cottrell will also be in Lexington.

Cottrell is a former 4-star recruit and committed to the Aggies over Georgia, Alabama, Miami (FL), Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and several others.

He was in College Station for only one season, which saw him record just one reception that was a 13-yard touchdown.

Sticking on the offensive side of the ball, the two wide receivers will also be joined by Ohio State transfer running back Chip Trayanum.

After originally starting his career at Arizona State, Trayanum transferred to Ohio State in 2022.

This season, he carried the ball 85 times for 373 yards and three touchdowns while also hauling in 9 receptions for 53 yards.

Already having a quarterback in place for next season is huge for the Cats with so many offensive skill position players making their way to Lexington this weekend.
