GREENFIELD — U.S. Sen. Ed Markey has endorsed Mayor Roxann Wedegartner for reelection. Wedegartner is seeking a second term as mayor of Greenfield.

“Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has proven to be both an aspirational and effective leader for Greenfield, and I am proud to endorse her for re-election,” Markey said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to build upon our partnership to expand broadband access, strengthen local infrastructure and secure federal investments for the families and businesses of Greenfield.”

“I’m so happy to receive Sen. Ed Markey’s endorsement,” Wedegarter said in a statement. “He’s been a friend to Greenfield throughout the last four years. I look forward to working with him in the next four years.”

Polls for the city election will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Greenfield High School.
