Oct. 19–The second of five LPGA/USGA Girls Golf events at The Dunes at Maui Lani is scheduled for Oct.19. Girls Golf is the only junior golf program for girls ages 6-17 that specializes in providing girl-friendly environments to learn the game of golf, according to the event website. In addition to the Oct. 19 event, there will also be sessions on Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. All Maui events are set for 4 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per junior for each event. Jan. 4–Volunteer registration is currently open for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions at the Kapalua Plantation Course. The tournament — set for the first week of January, with the first round starting on Jan. 4 — will serve as the season opener for the 2024 PGA Tour season. There are various committees that prospective volunteers can join including ShotLink (includes both walking scorer and laser operator), On-Course Transportation, Gallery Management, Admissions & Information, and Supply & Product Distribution.
