Purlie Victorious, Merrily We Roll Along, More Plan Entertainment Community Fund Benefit Performances

Four Broadway shows will host performances this winter with blocks of tickets dedicated to supporting the nonprofit.

Broadway’s Purlie Victorious, Merrily We Roll Along, Spamalot, and Harmony will host performances this winter to benefit the Entertainment Community Fund. The complete ticket price from a block of tickets at each performance will be donated to support the nonprofit. The initiative is part of the Fund’s Producer’s Picks program.

Purlie Victorious will host Fund performances December 13 and 17, both at 7 PM, with Spamalot‘s set for January 10, 2024, at 7 PM and Harmony‘s January 23 at 7 PM. Merrily We Roll Along is hosting a number of benefit performances, set for January 31, February 7, February 13, and February 21, all at 7 PM.

“We’re beyond grateful for the continued support from the Broadway community including those on stage, backstage and front of house, producers and audience members,” says Fund CEO and President Joe Benincasa in a statement. “And what better way to celebrate the holidays than by giving the gift of theatre tickets, while also supporting a life in the arts?”

Formerly known as The Actors Fund, the nonprofit has been in high demand in recent years thanks to the effects of COVID-19 and, more recently, the WGA and SAG strikes that shuttered most work in Hollywood. During the pandemic, the organization distributed more than $30 million to more than 20,000 people in the industry. The group has also distributed more than $13 million to more than 6,000 film and television workers affected by the strikes since last May.
