Penguins Travel to ITA Midwest Regionals

Members of the Youngstown State women’s tennis team will compete at the ITA Midwest Regionals starting on Thursday in East Lansing, Mich., at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.

On Thursday, Julia Marko, Yesenyia Ovcharova and Lorena Cedena will compete in the qualifying singles stage. Those three will be trying to advance to the Main Draw which starts on Friday. Already in the Main Draw is Eliska Masarikova who will face Michigan’s Bayley Sheinin.

In doubles, Masarikova and Ovcharova will face Cassie Alcala and Gabbie Rondon from Toledo while Cedeno and Marko will take on Ariel Johnson and Maria Sholokhova of Wisconsin in their opening matchups.

To Follow: Qualifying Singles Second Round (16 players will qualify for main draw)

Friday, October 13
9 AM: Doubles Main Draw First Round (Draw of 64)
To Follow: Doubles Main Draw Second Round
To Follow: Singles Main Draw First Round (Draw of 64)

Saturday, October 14
9 AM: Doubles Main Draw Round of 16
To Follow: Singles Main Draw Round of 32
To Follow: Singles Main Draw Round of 16
