Pearl Jam have released a collection of songs featured on HBO series The Last of Us. The four-track compilation includes the band’s 2013 song “Future Days,” which is referenced both in the original video game and the TV show.
The rock band shared a new music video for the track, off their album Lightning Bolt, to coincide with the release.

The compilation also features a live rendition of “Future Days,” recorded at the Ohana Festival in 2024, the studio version of “All or None,” and No Code’s “Present Tense (Redux).” As well as being released on streaming, the EP is available as a limited edition 12-inch vinyl album.
In the game The Last of Us II, Joel (Pedro Pascal) plays “Future Days” for Ellie (Bella Ramsey) on guitar. In the most recent episode of the series, Ellie picks up a guitar in a theater in Seattle and strums the first line of the song, “If I ever were to lose you,” hinting at a possible future scene with Joel (maybe a flashback?).
In 2020, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder performed “Future Days” at the Game Awards 2020 in honor of The Last of Us II. The song also featured in one of the trailers for season two of the show.
