Williamsport City Council Finance Committee Tuesday was informed that Mayor Derek Slaughter has recommended Heather Jacoby be hired as Director of Finance.
Jacoby will be formally introduced to the full body of council for consideration on Thursday.
She has experience in municipal, nonprofit and private business financial work, according to Councilman Eric Beiter who reviewed along with other members of the committee her resume and bio.
Jacoby is not local to the Williamsport area, according to the committee discussion.
More information about the potential hire who will work along with Tracey Rash, the contracted city finance manager from Government Finance Solutions, is expected to be shared at the council meeting.
The committee does not make any recommendations, it simply just reviews and discusses matters.
