STERLING — The Alcona High cross country team took top honors at the Panther Rifle River Invite last Wednesday as all five runners earned a medal.

Cole Upper took first place, crossing the line in 19:07 and was followed by Carter Upper in second place in 19:52.2. Colin McKenna finished 13th (24:12.4), Darren Boyat (21:38.8) was sixth and Ziggy Villalobos (21:56.6) finished seventh.
