Leveraged Finance Activity Holds Steady

U.S. institutional leveraged loan volume remained flat in the second quarter, and positively, loan volume tied to M&A increased quarter-over-quarter for the first time in almost two years. Despite challenging financing markets, private credit continued to overtake the syndicated loan market, and direct lenders became a bit more aggressive as pricing tightened modestly during the quarter.
