Las Vegas airport travel numbers continue tumble in September

Date:

Flyer figures for Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas tumbled again in September, continuing the ongoing worries about tourism for the region.

More than 4.45 million arriving and departing passengers flew through the airport last month, per new figures from the Clark County Department of Aviation.

That’s down 6.4% compared to September 2024, when the airport recorded 4.76 million flyers.

It’s a new indicator that Las Vegas’ tourism slump stretched into the fall, though only one day tied to the Labor Day holiday fell in September this year, compared to two days last year.

Domestic travel for the month fell 6.1%, while international travel dipped 13.5%.

For the top five domestic carriers, Spirit continued to hemorrhage passengers amid its financial woes, dropping 45.8% year-over-year. American and Delta also dipped 5.3% and 2.1%, respectively, while Southwest and United both saw gains of around 5.5%.

Major international carriers had a mixed bag as well. Canadian flyers Air Canada and WestJet both fell again, down 18.4% and 44.3% from September last year.

British Airways, Viva, Korean Airlines and KLM posted gains, but Volaris and Aeromexico both dropped.

The year-to-date passenger total for 2025 is 41.45 million, down 4.7% from the year-ago period.
