A SEASONED traveller has revealed the three things they would never do at any hotel as they could put you at risk.
The expert known online as “Max Miles Points” said they applied to all hotels from five star luxury down to one star ones.
Taking to his TikTok page, he explained all to his 183,700 followers on the social media site.
The first thing he said he never did was to “plug his phone into the built in USB ports”.
He explained that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had reported on “juice jacking”.
The TikToker explained that this was “where bad actors can steal your data through these USB ports”.
Instead, he recommended using the power socket instead along with a charger and your cable.
The second tip was connected to the coffee maker.
He warned that while it might look clean and shiny on the outside, guests don’t know how often it is cleaned on the inside.
The third and final thing he warned against was never to go barefoot on the floors.
He advised to always bring slippers because “you never know how clean these carpets are. They just get vacuumed in between guests.”
The expert admitted at the end of the clip: “I’m a germaphobe, a little bit paranoid.”
The short video has become a big hit on the site, picking up around 509,000 views along with 18,000 likes.
It’s also attracted more than 500 comments with many people adding their own tips and hacks for other travellers.
One person wrote: “ NEVER put your luggage down on the bed or floor before checking for bedbugs!!!”
Another comment said: “I disinfect everything, and always carry Lysol wipes and spray.”
While a third added: “Tip number #4 put the remote control in a Ziploc bag. Never know where it’s been.”
