Ice Spice Is “So Confused” Over Matty Healy’s Racist Comments | Entertainment

During an episode of ‘The Adam Friedland Show’ podcast in February 2023, Matty Healy made racist comments about rapper Ice Spice.  While discussing Spice’s ethnicity, Healy said, “Slide into her DMs and ask ‘What are you? A f***ing Eskimo or something?’” He also laughed as the podcast host described her as “one of the Inuit Spice Girls” and a “chubby Chinese lady.” Following this, at The 1975’s concert in New Zealand, Healy apologized to Spice saying, “I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d***. I love you.” In a recent interview with Variety, Spice discussed the comments Healy made about her and revealed that he’s apologized “a bunch of times.” “I was so confused. Because I heard ‘chubby Chinese lady’ or some s*** like that, and I’m like, ‘Huh? What does that even mean? First of all, I’m thick’… I didn’t really care,” said Spice.
