Fed in ‘restrictive state’ while considering interest rates: Portfolio manager

Date:

All eyes are on the Fed and which direction officials want to push interest rates after the U.S. economy and labor market reported positive data amid global economic headwinds. Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Senior Portfolio Manager Matt Stucky joins Yahoo Finance Live to talk about the Fed’s interest rate outlook following recent jobs data prints.

“You have seen the economy decelerate the last 12 months or so,” Stucky states, adding: “The important point here is not necessarily so much the future direction, in terms of an incremental hike or so. It’s the extent to which the fed is going to keep rates elevated at a restrictive level. And to that point, we do think it’s going to be a while until they start to cut.”
