MONTGOMERY — Fairmont’s Macy Hanson finished fifth out of 168 runners, posting a time of 19:15.45 on Thursday in the Tri-City United/Gerry Smith Invitational at Montgomery Golf Course in Montgomery.

As a team, Fairmont finished 15th out of 25 teams with 376 points. Waconia won the girls meet with 75 points.

Hanson’s teammate Carys Gudahl was second on the team, finishing 72nd overall with a time of 22:25.7, and the duo of Kendra Blomster and Gwyneth Schultz finished 90th and 91st with times of 23:07.86 and 23:10.43, respectively.

Fairmont’s final scorer was Paige DeBoer, who placed 153rd with a time of 27:26.58.

Rylee Maday and Norah Traetow also ran for the Cardinals, placing 159th and 166th with times of 28:27.37 and 30:11.24, respectively.

In the boys race, Madelia/Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther Jayhawks’ Josiah DeMaris and Fairmont Cardinals’ Gavin Artner put forth top-20 finishes by running 5th and 17th with times of 16:33.25 and 17:07.24, respectively.

As a team, Fairmont finished sixth with 222 points and Madelia/Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther finished 13th with 358 points. Belle Plaine won the boys meet with 52 points. There was 26 teams in the boys field.

Fairmont’s second-fastest runner was Brier Lenort, who placed 38th with a time of 17:51.21.

Taking third for the Cardinals was Jaydon Putney, who was 57th with a time of 18:19.83, and teammate Will Niestrath was right behind him, taking 58th with a time of 18:21.17.

Cooper Gudahl was also a Fairmont scorer, taking the fifth spot on the team. He placed 60th with a time of 18:21.47.

Fairmont also had two other competitors, Isaac Stone and Landon Weber, who finished 80th and 127th with times of 18:55.33 and 19:49.51, respectively.

The Jayhawks’ other scorers were Ryan Koberoski, 15th at 17:03.15; Carson Meraz, 85th at 19:00.44; Eddie Ramirez, 129th at 19:51.17; and Dalton Tatro, 143rd at 20:09.30.

Caleb DeCann and Caden McMullen finished 146th and 150th with times of 20:22.37 and 20:30.05 to round out the Jayhawks’ competitors.
