Sally Dickens, Director of Visitor Experience at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, has earned the “Stars of the Industry” award from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KITA).
According to KITA, the award is presented to “individuals who have demonstrated exceptional frontline service” and play a role in their employers’ success and that of the overall Kentucky travel industry.”
Dickes said she is honored and humbled to be chosen for this award.
“It’s easy to give a heartfelt welcome to our visitors from all over the world because of the special way we all connect through bluegrass music,” she said. “People share stories, play music, and create a memory that they take home with them. The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum is a treasure and I am blessed to be a part of it. I deeply appreciate those who made this award possible.”
Chris Joslin, Executive Director of the Hall of Fame, added “For many of our visitors, music is very personal, and it’s connected to their personal journey. Sally Dickens identifies with that by turning a fun day at the museum into a transformative experience that is felt long after the visit. We call this ‘music with a mission.’ Thanks to Sally Dickens, mission accomplished!”
