WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A barbecue restaurant in Dexter has recently closed while the owners of a Saline café have taken the business off the market to continue its operations.

The U.S. Department of Labor recently filed a lawsuit alleging two popular Ann Arbor restaurants have failed to pay their workers in overtime wages.

The U.S. Department of Labor filed the lawsuit on Sept. 18 against Cascabel Ventures LLC, which is behind the operations of Isalita and Mani Osteria & Bar in Ann Arbor.

Hotel Hickman Chuckwagon BBQ closes in Dexter

Hotel Hickman Chuckwagon BBQ in Dexter has officially closed.

The barbecue spot at 8050 Main St. in Dexter had its last day on Sunday, Sept. 17, less than a year after a change in ownership in December 2022.

Mindo Chocolate Makers, a bean-to-bar chocolatier based in Dexter with an Ann Arbor store at 206 N. 4th Ave. recently received recognition at the International Chocolate Awards.

Carrigan Café in Saline is off the market.

Owners Karen and Jason Carrigan have decided they are here to stay despite announced their plans to sell the business at 101 S. Ann Arbor St. back in May.
