Madison Blue Streaks
Carson Alley had every reason to toot his own horn Sept. 22.
He focused, rather, on what got him to this point — his teammates.
Madison’s senior quarterback, Alley threw for 164 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 184 yards in the Blue Streaks’ 42-20 win over Lakeside.
The win improves Madison’s record to 5-1 (1-0 in the CVC Lake Division).
“It’s the offensive line, the receivers, the running backs,” Alley said. “I give it all up to the team. It wasn’t an individual effort at all. It was all ‘Team.’”
Alley threw touchdown passes to Alexander Davis and Ryan Radkowski as Madison built a 28-6 halftime lead. When Lakeside scored in the third on a Devan Miller run, the Blue Streaks answered right with a 60-yard TD run by Davis.
Madison piled up 472 yards of offense. While it did give up 359 to Lakeside, the Alley-led offense put up enough points to get the win and give Madison an early lead in the newly formed CVC Lake Division.
Madison travels to Edgewood in Week 7.
“Five-and-one feels amazing,” Alley said. “The past has been rough. It was rough, man. But we grinded through it. It’s amazing to have a winning record right now.”
