Brunot Island fire caused by reactor failure, officials say

A fire is burning on Brunot Island, sending black smoke over the Ohio River toward the rest of Pittsburgh. The fire appears to be near the Duquesne Light power station located on the island.Watch the fire in the Action Cam video above.Allegheny County dispatch reports no injuries from this fire as of about 8:30 p.m. Pittsburgh Public Safety said Duquesne Light Company was on the scene and reporting this is the “result of a reactor that catastrophically failed.” Police on the scene say fire crews are having to ferry over to the island.
