The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) shared the top destinations travel advisors have been booking in 2023.

International trips are on a roll this year: 67 percent of travel advisors report that their clients are more likely to travel internationally this year. Bucket list and adventure travel experiences are on the rise, likely helping boost the international travel trend as travelers desire those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Travel advisors are booking most of their clients in European destinations like Italy, France and the United Kingdom. Those planning travel for those heading to tropical destinations continue to head to the Dominican Republic, The Bahamas and Jamaica.

The most popular destinations in Asia to visit are Japan, Thailand and Vietnam; all of these destinations offer unique foodie destinations with plenty of adventure and wellness activities to enjoy. South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania remain the top destinations for an African adventure, known for their safari offerings.

The biggest destinations in South America that travel advisors are booking their clients are Argentina, Peru and Chile. These destinations have long been three of the most popular in the region, due to their history, diverse cultures and beautiful natural wonders.

This year, the top destinations in the Middle East and North Africa region are Egypt, Israel and Jordan, popular for their history and heritage.

“Our members tell us they are busier than ever before,” said Zane Kerby, President and CEO of the American Society of Travel Advisors. “We’re excited to see people traveling all around the world again and even more excited to see them reaching out to trusted travel advisors to plan their trips.”
