Amanda Bynes has made her comeback to the entertainment industry by dropping the debut episode of her new podcast over the weekend.
The 37-year-old actress announced the release of the first episode of her and her friend’s new project, Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast.
Ahead of the release, she took to Instagram to share a film photo of herself, Paul and their guest Dahlia Moth sitting on a couch together and posing with peace signs.
‘First episode of Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast done,’ Bynes wrote in her caption. ‘Thank you @dahliamoth!’
Just weeks earlier in late November, she made an announcement that she would be working on a project — a podcast about the entertainment industry with her biochemist and scientist BFF.
The former Nickelodeon star previously teased the debut and talked about their plans to take their podcast to a ‘mainstream’ level.
‘At first we are going to interview our friends and then we’re hoping to take it mainstream and interview celebrities and artists,’ she explained in a video.
The podcast series will also be available in video format and marks her first on-camera project since her last film project over a decade ago — 2010 romantic comedy Easy A.
In the first episode of their podcast, Bynes does not talk about herself but chats with Sieminski as they interview their first guest, tattoo artist Dahlia Moth.
They recalled a story of Bynes meeting the model a few years ago when she was working at a Spirit Halloween store.
The She’s the Man star debuted platinum blonde space buns and also spoke about face tattoos in the episode.
‘Nobody cares anymore if people have face tattoos. It shouldn’t matter,’ Bynes declared, who shocked fans by getting a heart tattooed under her left eye in 2019.
This comes after a tumultuous year seeing Bynes check in and out of mental health facilities after a series of 5150 holds in prior months.
Previously, she stepped back from acting in 2010 amid rumors of substance abuse.
She suffered a very public breakdown and was placed under a conservatorship in August 2013.
During that time, she was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Since then, Bynes has largely stayed out of the spotlight and chose to focus on projects outside of Hollywood.
She earned an associate’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019.
She started attending cosmetology school to become a nail technician when her conservatorship was terminated after nearly a decade later in March 2022.
