ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Recently, Money.com ranked Albuquerque on its list of Top 50 Places to Travel to in the World for 2023.
There are a few reasons for that.
Whether you’re watching the glow of the Sandia sunset or the rainbow of colors during Balloon Fiesta, New Mexico’s largest city doesn’t disappoint.
“We’re amazed at how gorgeous Albuquerque is just amazed. It’s a beautiful, beautiful place to be.”
Only 16 other U.S. cities made the list.
The study took into account the best bang for your buck when it comes to traveling
It’s no surprise why the Duke City made it on there. Our landscapes even inspire artists to sing about our city, like local country singer Sarah Rowe.
“Growing up in New Mexico, we are so blessed with so many gorgeous landscapes. That has definitely been a pool of inspiration for me,” Rowe said.
You can enjoy those landscapes by taking the tram 10,000 feet up the Sandia Mountains.
Those panoramic views are hard to beat.
“Everyone wants to ride the tram for the sunset view. But I’ll tell you, the city night lights coming down the tram are just spectacular.”
The neon signs along Route 66 in Nob Hill aren’t just a stopover. They’re a destination offering some of the best cuisine in the U.S. Southwest.
Speaking of cuisine, you can’t forget the official question everyone’s asked here – Red or green?
“Chile is the best thing ever, you need it for everything.”
Our summers aren’t as hot as the chile though. Because of our higher elevation, visitors enjoy the relatively mild weather we get year-round in Albuquerque.
Then, the state fair unofficially ends summertime here.
“The food is obviously really good, but just to see the performers and the entertainment and the rides, it’s awesome.”
After all, they call it the Land of Enchantment for a reason.
