The San Diego-Tema, Ghana Sister City Society Organizes to Travel to Ghana

Date:

When Ancestor Leon Williams had the vision to help establish the San Diego-Tema, Ghana Society, it was with idea of building a relationship between that Port City and San Diego which would also offer the San Diego Black Community the opportunity to build a bridge between African people in that city and African Americans in San Diego.

This bridge could forge long-term relationships in governmental conversations, social service delivery, education systems, and business opportunities that both sides could benefit from. Elder Marnyce has carried this legacy forward into the 21st century, and is now looking for a new generation of local Black San Diegans to grow the organization and build opportunity and understanding between the people of Ghana and the African America community of San Diego

Imagine a delegation of local black political figures, professionals of various fields and entrepreneurs landing in Accra, returning to the Motherland and experiencing the warmth and hospitality of Ghanaians welcoming them with open arms. That is more than possible for those who join the San Diego-Tema, Ghana Sister City Society.
