NRL 2026, Grand final ticket sales, Warriors fans buy up big

Date:

If you thought the Wah Nation was buzzing with three games to play in the regular season, just wait until September hits.

The Warriors sit third on the ladder after a comprehensive 40-6 win over the Broncos and have games against the Rabbitohs, Knights and Sea Eagles to come.

The clashes against Newcastle and Manly in Round 26 and 27 will be played in front of a huge crowds at Go Media Stadium as excitement builds towards the Warriors’ third finals appearance in four years.

Such is the buzz around the Wahs that the highest percentage of tickets sold to date for the 2026 NRL grand final on Sunday, October 4 have been purchased by Warriors fans.

Since joining the competition in 1995 the Warriors have played in two grand finals (2002 and 2011) but are yet to claim a premiership – but with proven winner James Fisher-Harris and tryscoring machine Alofiana Khan-Pereira on board in 2026 the hype is growing across New Zealand.

Warriors fans account for 24% of tickets sold to date for the NRL decider with the Panthers next best on 13% and the Broncos on 10%.

Despite the Broncos’ woes during the defence of their premiership, their fans have stuck solid and there was 38,916 on hand at Suncorp Stadium for last Saturday night’s clash with the Warriors.

The trip to Sydney to soak up the atmosphere of grand final week is a bucket list item for fans across the NRL and Broncos supporters have brought up big despite knowing the defending champs won’t be there on the big day.

Panthers v Roosters – Round 24, 2026

Roosters fans are next on the list with 6% of tickets purchased but that number is sure to soar in coming weeks after they climbed to the top of the ladder with a sensational 12-6 win over the Panthers on Thursday night.

The Roosters have been to every finals series bar one since their 2013 premiership but they haven’t claimed the title since 2019 so their fans are riding a wave of expectation on the back of an eight-game winning streak.

Back in 2002 it was the Roosters and Warriors clashing in the decider with Brad Fittler and Stacey Jones the star attractions.

Some 24 years later there’s a growing feeling that those two powerhouse clubs could meet again in the grand final and their fans are making sure they have their ticket for the big dance on October 4.
