SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a travel nurse has been indicted after allegedly diverting pain medication while working at an East Tennessee hospital.
TBI said special agents launched an investigation after receiving information from Ballad Health involving 48-year-old Everett Collier Ragan.
During the investigation, TBI said agents gathered evidence that indicated Ragan diverted pain medication meant for a patient for his own benefit. At the time, he was a travel nurse working at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Last month, TBI said the Sullivan County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Ragan with two counts of neglect of a vulnerable adult and three counts of prescription drug fraud.
Ragan was found in Nashville and taken into custody with help from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, TBI said. He’s currently being held at the Davidson County Jail awaiting transport back to Sullivan County.
