NFL free agency 2026 live updates: Raiders sign Linderbaum, Walker III with Chiefs, Willis to Dolphins

Date:

The Commanders have been somewhat slow out of the gate in signing new players, but they did lock up one of their own stars for another two years. The team gave Laremy Tunsil a two-year, $60.2 extension, then landed veteran cornerback Amik Robertson on a two-year, $16 million agreement that includes $9.3 million in guarantees, according to multiple league sources. Robertson, 27, figures to be the first of many signings by the Commanders this offseason as they try to rebuild after a 5-12 campaign. Washington’s defense has been especially problematic over the last two years, requiring upgrades at all three levels. Robertson, at 5-foot-9, 183 pounds, is built like a slot corner but has the versatility to play inside and outside. He played the bulk of his defensive snaps out wide last season for the Detroit Lions after spending the majority of his time in the slot in 2024. A fourth-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, Robertson led the Lions with 12 passes defended last season, to with one interception and two forced fumbles.
