Longtime NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie is sending a clear message to the people who have claimed to have kidnapped her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
On Feb. 7, Guthrie, seated alongside her brother Cameron and sister Annie, posted an update on the “Today” show host’s Instagram page, acknowledging the ransom demands made by the kidnappers.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
The video did not provide any further details on the message the family received. This news comes just days after a random note was sent to TMZ’s email.
“So, we got something in our email that looks like a, it’s written like a ransom note for Savannah Guthrie’s mother,” TMZ’s Harvey Levin said.
The media outlet also says they have video from NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Enten of Nancy’s home showing a “blood trail,” and signs of forced entry.
Levin also said the note requests “a very specific” amount of money.
The Guthrie family has made several pleas over the past week, hoping to bring their mother home safely. On Feb. 3, Savannah posted on Instagram, asking people to pray about the situation.
“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” the post reads. “Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you.”
Nancy has been missing from her Arizona home since Jan. 1, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. She is believed to have trouble walking, has a pacemaker, and takes medicine for her heart daily.
The FBI’s Phoenix, Arizona, office, which is also investigating Nancy’s disappearance, is offering a $50,000 reward for any information.
Authorities have not released any information on potential suspects.
