Lip reader claims Prince Harry was startled by Meghan Markle’s suggestion
The renowned forensic lip reader, Hickling, analyzed a moment during the 2018 Armistice Day service at London’s iconic Westminster Abbey. As the couple waited for the service to start, Harry, looking stern, stared ahead. Meghan then turned to him and said five words, which, according to the lip reader, were, “Take advantage of the situation.”
Hickling interpreted the pair’s conversation and told Channel 5 that Harry appeared to be taken aback by her giving him instructions to take advantage. He then asks her, “Today?” As per the lip reader’s interpretation, Harry, after understanding what his wife is demanding, said an intriguing remark, “Sweet.”
The expert further added that she couldn’t properly read what Harry said at the end of the conversation, but according to her, it was the word “sweet.”
As the conversation continues, the expert analyzes that Markle “directs the conversation in a way that she appears to be instructing him.” She further adds that Markle instructs her husband, Harry, to “Do it tonight.”
Ms. Hickling then further notes that after Harry leaned into Meghan, she believed that he said, “You do realise that this is the end?” to her. And the Duchess of Sussex responds, “Yes, I know.”
The expert lip reader analyzed the entire conversation between Harry and Markle that happened in 2018. Her interpretation was featured in the Channel 5 2025 documentary, “Lip Reading the Royals: The Secret Conversations.”
