The final week of NFL preseason action is here, with everything wrapping up by Saturday night.
The Browns hosted the Rams in each team’s final preseason game, and all eyes were on Cleveland’s QB competition. Starter Joe Flacco finished 9 of 10 for 71 yards and a touchdown pass before giving way to third-round rookie Dillon Gabriel, who had a solid outing for the second straight week and led an impressive two-minute drill for a touchdown. Gabriel went 12 of 19 for 129 yards and the TD pass.

Sanders, meanwhile, struggled quite a bit, partly due to the Rams’ pressure and partly due to trying to extend plays too long. He completed 3 of 6 passes for just 14 yards, and lost 41 yards on five sacks. Sanders didn’t play the final series, with veteran Tyler Huntley getting the snaps.
What this means for the Browns’ depth chart behind Flacco is anyone’s guess, though it seems like Gabriel is a surer bet to make the roster at this point. The wild card is veteran Kenny Pickett, who didn’t play at all in the preseason with a hamstring injury.
As the later kickoffs start, Jalen Milroe is leading the Seattle Seahawks against the Green Bay Packers. The rookie third-round pick has a chance to solidify his grip on QB2 in Seattle at Lambeau Field.

Micah Parsons lays on trainer’s table during Cowboys’ preseason finale: Micah Parsons started Friday with a “call me” gesture in response to a Falcons fan who yelled “come to the Falcons!” at him. Then, during the preseason finale, he laid down on a trainer’s table on the sideline. This all comes amid team owner and general manager Jerry Jones doing a media tour to talk about the ongoing contract negotiation with Parsons and take shots at his agent. Fun!

Caleb Williams, Bears starters ‘sloppy’ in preseason finale vs. Chiefs: Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson was frank after Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bears’ first-team offense was simply, in Johnson’s words, “not good enough.” The Bears’ backups, namely newly-extended quarterback Tyson Bagent, rallied the team to a 29-27 win that ended in a walk-off touchdown. But the starters’ struggles in the first half were a cause for concern with the regular season quickly approaching.

Steelers’ first-round rookie expected to miss a month: Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is expected to be out for a lengthy amount of time after being diagnosed with an MCL sprain, per multiple reports. Harmon suffered a knee injury during the Steelers’ third and final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. Though the injury is not as bad as originally feared, Harmon is expected to miss a month while recovering from the injury, making him candidate to start the season on injured reserve, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
