APS hires new executive director of Finance and Operations – Austin Daily Herald

Austin Public Schools has announced that Todd Lechtenberg will become the next executive director of Finance and Operations. 

Lechtenberg has worked as a school business manager with School Management Services for over a decade. During that time, he helped support multiple school districts by monitoring fiscal needs, helping develop goals and strategies to meet strategic planning initiatives, and implementing process improvements to help drive operational growth. 

He holds an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.

 “I am incredibly excited and honored to be joining the great team at Austin Public Schools as the Executive Director of Finance and Operations,”Lechtenberg said. “I look forward to contributing my expertise and working collaboratively with this exceptional admin team and community to ensure sound financial management and operational excellence.”

Lechtenberg will take over for the outgoing executive director of Finance and Operations, Andrew Adams.

 “Mr. Lechtenberg’s accomplished background thoroughly positions him for this critical role,” said Austin Superintendent Dr. Joey Page. “His financial management and strategic thinking align with our district’s objectives, and his dedication to a people-first approach and ability to address challenges will undoubtedly enrich our school system. His consistent track record in developing solid partnerships with an emphasis on a team-based environment are attributes that Austin Public Schools will appreciate.”
