Holiday concerts
The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra is having a series of free holiday concerts lasting approximately 45 minutes, including:

Build and paint
Learn the basics of base-coating and highlighting as you paint a heroic Stormcast Eternal and a cunning Gutrippa from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, a tabletop wargame set in an epic fantasy world of unending war.
The miniature painting workshop will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
Models, paints and brushes are provided through the Warhammer Alliance program with libraries and schools, but supplies are limited. Registration is required at ebrpl.com/calendar or by calling (225) 231-3750.
Badminton, anyone?
Highland Road Community Park, 14024 Highland Road, gives you a chance to play every week.
Sessions are from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Learn to sew
The “Sharp as a Needle” sewing class is geared toward beginners on up and takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays at Webb Park Adult Leisure Center, 1351 Country Club Drive.
The instructor will familiarize participants with the sewing machine as well as parts, function and operation. Different patterns and materials will be presented, discussed, and utilized for individual projects.
