A day full of emotions at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The buildup to the game with Alavés match included an event related to the 19th edition of the Charity Sports Stories (Relats solidaris de l’Esport) project that began in the presidential box and continued on the pitch.
Barça President Joan Laporta and members of the Board of Directors welcomed a delegation of journalists who have driven the project, along with representatives from the sponsoring companies.
Later, on the field, a group of children from the project’s beneficiary organization, the Enriqueta Villavecchia Children’s Oncology Foundation, appeared in a photo with Ronald Araújo, the ambassador of this 19th edition. Their smiles grew even wider when the rest of the starting lineup joined the picture shortly before they began their warm-up..
Year of the Snake
Also just before kickoff, there was a commemoration the Year of the Snake, a significant event in Asian culture. As in precious years, Barça seized the opportunity to extend its best wishes to supporters from this region, especially in this special season marking the club’s 125th anniversary.
The various activities culminated with the players coming onto the pitch wearing special jerseys with their names written in Chinese. They were accompanied by Chinese children from the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units. The Year of the Snake is set to bring luck, strength, courage and hope to everyone with their challenges.
